![]() So really, Dark Souls's ending is not that much different besides casting the "evil" end in a better light and the "good" end in a worse light, making them more morally ambiguous.Demon's Crest is a 2D action platformer video game developed and published by Capcom for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1994. Ostrava and possibly Biorr died as well trying to help you, both deaths they didn't deserve.Ĥ) You are denied a free life as you must become the next Monumental, becoming an immortal living statue and possibly having your emotions drained just so you can make sure that the world is safe if people abuse the Soul Arts again. Someone put him there as a "poison to the poison", leaving the possibility that your true god is even more evil and the future of humanity in question.Ģ) Despite Maiden in Black's demonhood, she was just an innocent girl beneath it all, and now she must sleep forever with the Old One to keep it contained.ģ) In order to stop the Old One, you had to kill Astraea and Garl Vinheim, who were arguably innocent. While you save the world from destruction at the hands of the Old One, these things are also the case:ġ) You have realized that the Old One was not the true evil, just a mindless child with immense power. The ending song, Return to Slumber, also gave me very uplifting vibes, rather than the more somber tone of Nameless Song, or the DS3 epilogue. The only slightly negative thing I can think for the ending is the soul arts going away, but I feel like that can be positive as well, as this world can now exist without the extra burdens of magic powers, and be more natural or "normal." The player character lives and will be remembered as a hero, the Fog and the Demons are gone, and the Maiden in Black was satisfied in completing her objective. ![]() ![]() I was surprised by the tone of the ending it's, to my knowledge, the only game in the series with an overall happy ending? (For lulling the old one back to sleep.) The only games in the series I haven't played extensively yet are Bloodborne and DS2.
